Subject: FW: AA and NA Updates on Support of Institutions as of 6-18-2020
Good Afternoon volunteers of AA and NA. I do apologize that everything is slow moving related to your return, participation, etc. I have been delayed in making progress as we have been delayed in determining when our staff is returning to the prisons. Now that we have the date of June24 for all of the institutions to return, we still don’t know when services and offender movement will return to normal or the new normal. That said, we don’t know when volunteers will be permitted to return either.
Please see the attached which is what I shared with all of the Recovery Services Regional Administrators and Leadership. I will look for more clarity on some of what we have discussed so far as well as any further progress in the discussion. Feel free to provide further insight, ideas, etc. Also continue to prepare to distribute whatever resources that you may have available for the offender population.
I hope to speak with each of you sometime soon. Have a great weekend and be safe!

Subject: AA and NA Updates on Support of Institutions as of 6-18-2020
Good Afternoon John and Moses,
Now that we are moving forward with staff going back into the institutions on June 24th, I wanted to reiterate on the conversations that have taken place so far with members of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous. I have attached a list of concerns as well as what they AA and NA are able to do at this time. We also know there is still much to be determined inside the prisons at this time, including when we can have volunteers on grounds again as well as if/when we can have large gatherings.
If you could please review the points of discussion up to this point and provide any further information that could guide the conversation, that would be appreciated. The input from the other regionals is definitely welcome and appreciated. At this point we have primarily been in conversation with lead volunteers of the central region as a starting point, we also welcome involvement from those in other regions.
Thank You and Have a Great Day!
